Deli C batted off the competition to become winners of the Business Accelerators scheme in Wakefield which will see the company receive a free advertising package in the Wakefield Express as well as guidance from a local business guru.
The deli team presented their case to a panel of Wakefield movers and shakers, Sir Rodney Walker, Mohan De Silva and Andrew Choi, to explain why they should win. The judges were so impressed with deli's vision to contribute to Wakefield’s renaissance that they were awarded the once in a lifetime opportunity.
What’s more the deli will now get the opportunity to be picked from the hundreds of regional winners across the country to receive individual mentoring sessions from the competition’s national ambassador Deborah Meaden, who will become a consultant and mentor to the business for one year.
Tony Sykes, owner of Deli Central says: “We are overwhelmed at being chosen, the competition was tough and to make the final and win has been a fantastic start to the New Year. We’re really looking forward to working with the Wakefield Express and our business mentor to put Deli Central on the map.”
The Wakefield Express is one of almost 500 local newspapers that have joined forces to promote the Local Business Accelerators programme which aims to find the best small businesses in the country, focusing on those with drive and ambition that can create jobs, invigorate local communities and boost the economy
Deli Central is Wakefield’s only delicatessen retailing quality, artisan and foodie favorites from around Yorkshire. They also put real chocolate on their cappuccinos too!
